Poseidon Resort

Poseidon Resort is a resort in Tanote Bay & Ao Leuk, Koh Tao, with direct access to Tanote Bay Beach. Its east-coast setting looks onto a quiet bay, and accommodation ranges from a 20 m² Double Room with Balcony to a 30 m² Standard Bungalow. Both options accommodate up to two people and have air conditioning, a private bathroom and a balcony or terrace with garden views. The bungalow occupies 30 m² and offers a different layout, with a private entrance, kitchenette and refrigerator, and separate dining and seating areas. Its terrace faces the garden, with an inner-courtyard view also available.

Both room categories have air conditioning and a private bathroom, with a bath and shower among the bathroom fittings. The double room is the more compact option, while the bungalow adds a larger indoor footprint for preparing meals and sitting or dining. Room facilities also include towels, free toiletries and clothes storage.

Outdoor life centres on the resort’s private beach area, sun terrace, garden, patio and furnished outdoor spaces. Snorkelling, hiking, canoeing and fishing are among the activities, with water-sport facilities on site and walking tours also available. Balconies and terraces extend the accommodation outdoors, while air conditioning, a fan and mosquito nets are among the in-room features. WiFi is free in the rooms, and free public parking is available nearby, although spaces cannot be reserved.

Dining is served at the on-site restaurant, with a bar, snack bar and coffee house also available. Special-diet menus can be requested, and the dining offer includes breakfast foods such as juice, pancakes, cheese and fruit, as well as American, Italian, Thai and local dishes. The resort provides shuttle and airport-shuttle services, along with daily housekeeping, packed lunches and laundry.

Poseidon Resort is beside Tanote Bay on Koh Tao’s east coast, within the Tanote Bay & Ao Leuk stretch. This side of the island is quieter and more rugged than Mae Haad and Sairee, with steep concrete access roads descending through jungle to small coves. Tanote Bay Beach is 50 m away, while Ao Tanote Beach is 100 m from the resort; clear water and nearby coral reefs draw swimmers and snorkellers. Ao Tanot is 300 m away, and rocky coves give this part of Koh Tao a secluded character.

Koh Tao has no airport, so travel to the island begins with a ferry to Mae Haad Pier on the west coast. Lomprayah Koh Tao Pier is 2.6 km from the resort, and a taxi can take you across the island before the steep descent to Tanote Bay. Ferries connect Koh Tao with Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Chumphon and Surat Thani; rough seas can disrupt sailings, especially from November to January. Free public parking is possible nearby, but spaces cannot be reserved.

The east-coast coves are suited to swimming, snorkelling and time on the water. Love Koh Tao viewpoint is 850 m away, Laem Thian is 900 m away, Mao Bay - Ao Mamuang is 950 m away, and Ao Leuk is 1.6 km away. Hiking, canoeing and fishing are also among the resort’s activities. The east coast is generally the calmer side of Koh Tao from April to October, while whale sharks are seen most often around the island from March to May and September to October.
